Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, is seeking a Radiation Therapist to apply ionizing radiation to patients under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist. You will work with the team to deliver prescribed treatment plans, ensure patient safety, and maintain treatment records.

The role requires knowledge of radiology and radiation therapy principles, with strong communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiation therapy principles and safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy with minimal supervision.
• Check prescription, diagnosis, and patient ID.
• Explain procedures to patient and communicate during treatment.
• Prepare room and equipment, immobilization devices, etc.
• Transfer patient to treatment couch and monitor during treatment.
• Maintain daily treatment records and QA activities.
• Observe radiation safety for patient and staff.
