Salem Health in Salem, Oregon, seeks a Radiation Therapist to deliver precise radiation treatments and collaborate with oncologists, physicists, and staff. The role emphasizes patient safety, compassion, and clear communication in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT certification in radiation therapy or be eligible, possess a radiation therapy degree, and BLS certification. Work week is Mon-Fri, 7:00am–4:00pm, full-time, non-exempt, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualificações

• ARRT certification in radiation therapy or eligibility within six months of hire.
• BLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Simulates and administers radiation treatments to patients as prescribed, positioning patients and operating treatment equipment with precision.
• Interprets complex treatment plans and verifies patient identification to ensure accurate delivery and minimize risk of error.
• Images patients using various modalities and annotates portal images to verify treatment accuracy and make adjustments as needed.
• Observes patients for signs of side effects, reactions, or changes in condition and reports concerns to the radiation oncologist or supervisor for prompt evaluation.
• Provides emotional support and compassion to patients and their families, addressing concerns clearly and empathetically.
• Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient treatment, including documentation of delivery and deviations from the plan.
• Participates in team meetings and huddles to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Supports QA/QC processes and contributes to ongoing improvement of patient care and delivery.
• Develops and maintains a patient-centered approach to promote a positive treatment experience.
