Job summary

Corewell Health’s Radiation Oncology department in Farmington Hills is seeking a part-time radiation therapy technologist responsible for simulating patients for planning and delivering prescribed radiation treatments.

You will prepare rooms and equipment, position patients accurately, acquire imaging as directed (CBCT/IGRT), and assist in treatment plan preparation, working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, safe care.

Qualifications

• At minimum, requires a level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Position contingent upon successful completion of a certification in radiation therapy within 90 days of hire.
• Requires demonstrated knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, treatment plans and delivery, radiation oncology, and radiation protection.
• Must be board-eligible with board certification within 90 days of program graduation or 90 days of hire.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Radiation Therapy.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Simulates patients for radiation treatment planning and delivers prescribed radiation.
• Prepares and constructs immobilization, treatment and protection devices.
• Checks and operates radiation therapy equipment for proper function.
• Acquires imaging as directed by the physician (CBCT/IGRT).
• Schedules external beam treatment delivery and updates schedules as needed.
• Coordinates with physics, nursing, dosimetry, clerical, physicians and escorts to ensure coordinated care.
