Requirements include an Associate Degree in Radiography, 3 years of experience, RTT/AZ (RRTT:AZ) and BLS CPR certification, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree. This is a full‑time, on‑site role at SJHMC in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Radiography and completion of an accredited radiation therapy program.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Radiation Therapist in a Radiation Oncology clinic.
• Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (RTT) and AZ (RRTT:AZ) with BLS CPR.

Responsibilities

• Selects the most appropriate action plan after reviewing data and patient condition.
• Determines need for supplies, positioning, shielding and immobilization devices.
• Verifies patient identification and procedure requested or prescribed.
• Reviews patient medical records to verify procedure appropriateness.
• Assesses factors affecting the procedure such as medications or artifacts.
• Recognizes signs and symptoms of an emergency.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for accurately delivering prescribed courses of radiation therapy to cancer patients, ensuring clinical precision and patient comfort.
Every day you will meticulously position patients, operate sophisticated radiation equipment, perform daily quality assurance checks, and carefully monitor patients throughout treatment, providing support and clear communication.
To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and compassionate patient care, crucial for safe and effective cancer treatment.

• Selects the most appropriate and efficient action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient's abilities and condition.
• Determines the need for and selects supplies, accessory equipment, shielding, positioning and immobilization devices.
• Verifies patient identification and the procedure requested or prescribed.
• Reviews all available patient medical record information to verify the appropriateness of the procedure requested or prescribed.
• Assesses factors that may negatively affect the procedure, such as medications, patient history, insufficient patient preparation or artifact producing objects.
• Recognizes signs and symptoms of an emergency.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associates Degree in Radiography, successful completion of an accredited education program in radiation therapy
• Three (3) years experience as a Radiation Therapist in a Radiation Oncology clinic
• Advanced computer skills
• Certificate in Radiation Therapy
• Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist: AZ (RRTT:AZ)
• Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (RTT)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR)

Preferred

• Bachelors Degree
• Five (5) years of experience as a Radiation Therapist with increased responsibilities in a radiation oncology facility
