Texas Oncology in McAllen is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join our team. You will administer radiation therapy treatments under supervision and ensure accurate beam delivery to the designated tumor volume.

The role requires ARRT certification and a valid state license. You will work in a supportive environment with a focus on safety, accuracy, and patient care, contributing to a resilient cancer care program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
• ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and record radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
• Enter and maintain patient treatment parameters in the EMR; participate in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
• Assist in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submit correct billing information.
• Accurately cut blocks, when applicable.
• Accurately make custom molds.
• Accurately complete simple MU calculations.
• Accurately interpret a computerized treatment plan.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Education

Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, the Radiation Therapist administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose is paramount.
