Job summary

US Oncology Inc. is seeking a Radiation Therapist for our TXO El Paso Grandview location in Texas. The Radiation Therapist will administer radiation therapy treatments to patients under direct supervision, ensuring accuracy in positioning and delivering prescribed doses. Applicants must be graduates of an accredited radiation therapy technology program and possess ARRT certification and a valid state license.

Responsibilities

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our team at the TXO El Paso Grandview location.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, the Radiation Therapist administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose are paramount.

• Accurately deliver and record radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
• Enter and maintain patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
• Assist in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
• Accurately cut blocks, when applicable.
• Make custom molds.
• Complete simple MU calculations.
• Interpret a computerized treatment plan.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
• ARRT certification required.
• Valid state license for radiation therapy.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
