Job summary

MemorialCare Health System is seeking a Radiation Therapist at Saddleback Medical Center to perform specialized imaging and therapy duties in the Radiology Therapeutic department. The role supports patient care, safety, and accurate imaging across age groups in a fast-paced setting.

The successful candidate will have ARRT RT certification, California radiology licenses, and BCLS. The position is full-time with a day shift and a competitive pay range, plus a signing bonus for external hires.

Qualifications

• 1-year acute care experience or equivalent.
• Current California licenses and ARRT certification required.
• BCLS certification required for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates advanced imaging and radiation therapy equipment to deliver quality images and treatments.
• Performs clerical duties and supports department workflows.
• Provides patient education and safety guidance before, during and after procedures.
• Verifies patient identification and exam history in the system; documents details.
• Maintains professional conduct and adheres to department policies and procedures.

Pay Range*: $63.00/hr - $92.00/hr

$10,000 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary

Performs specific technical duties of a radiation therapist and provide assistance for the proper functioning of the department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

• Utilizes all electronic systems effectively and appropriately.
• Assists with clerical duties.
• Demonstrates the required technical knowledge to perform quality imaging for all diagnostic exams and procedures while providing quality patient care and safety.
• Performs quality imaging appropriate to patients of all ages and conditions.
• Assures appropriate patient identification is performed and indication and history for exam is documented.
• Ensures patient and family education is accomplished as appropriate and according to department policies.
• Ability to be at work and be on time
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives
• Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner
• Ability to prioritize and multitask

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
