MemorialCare’s Radiation Oncology department in Long Beach seeks a Radiation Physicist to lead QA, plan evaluation, and technology commissioning for cancer care. Responsibilities include ensuring treatment plans meet physician prescriptions, maintaining records, and supporting accreditation objectives. Ideal candidates hold an M.S.
or Ph.D. in medical physics, with ABR board certification or eligibility, and at least 2 years of clinical experience.

Pay Range*: $205,000/annually - $298,000/annually

Expert in the use/handling/storing/securing of radiation sources and in the Q/A of machines used in the treatment of cancer patients. Collaborate with physicians and department leaders to assess the technology needs of the department, and commission new technology. Perform required quality checks of treatment plans and create plans to assure that plans meet the requirements of the physician prescription. Maintain department records and perform gap analysis to be assured that department is meeting ACR accreditation standards.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
