Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking an experienced Health Physicist to join the RP Training and Education group. The role focuses on developing and maintaining education programs for RP health physicists and managers, and coordinating radiological emergency response training with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or closely related field with 5+ years of operational health physics experience.
• Experience with 10 CFR 835 and/or 10 CFR 20, 10 CFR 830.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute the health physics training program for new hire HPs and RP managers.
• Develop, maintain and execute continuing training program for HPs and RP managers.
• Develop, maintain and execute emergency response initial qualification and continuing training programs for RP responders.
• Collaborate with RP Emergency Response Coordinator and internal/external partners to plan drills and exercises.
• Provide operational health physics supervision and guidance to line customers within SNL missions.
• Support safe use of radioactive sources and operation of RGDs, guiding users in regulated environments.
• Continuously improve the radiological protection program and implement new controls and best practices.
• Contribute to development of the Corporate Radiation Protection Program and related tools.
