Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Research Assistant I to support Radiation Oncology research under Dr. Eugene Koay.

The role involves data collection, imaging analysis, biospecimen processing, and technical support across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have education and experience in scientific research and laboratory operations, with coding and image analysis strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural science or applied science or related field required.
• Experience or strong interest in scientific research, laboratory operations, clinical data analysis, and technical project support preferred.
• Coding and image analysis experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research projects conducted within Dr. Koay's laboratory.
• Support efficient execution of research activities and project workflows.
• Prepare imaging procedures following established protocols.
• Conduct imaging activities using approved methods.
• Prepare biospecimen collections according to protocol requirements.
• Perform biospecimen analyses using established procedures.
• Operate laboratory apparatus and research equipment.
• Follow equipment usage and safety expectations during research activities.
• Maintain readiness and proper use of laboratory resources.
• Document research data and findings accurately.
• Maintain records per requested methods and protocols.
• Generate reports from collected datasets.
• Acquire clinical research data according to established protocols.
• Perform clinical data tabulation and analysis.
• Support research data collection, organization, and reporting efforts.
