Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems, Inc. Cobb Hospital is seeking an Associate Radiation Oncology Physicist or Radiation Oncology Physicist to join the team. You will calibrate radiation therapy equipment, review treatment plans, and support radiation safety across the department.

Required is a PhD in Medical Physics with ABR certification or eligibility, and at least 2 years in Radiation Therapy. The role emphasizes QA, dosimetry, and staff education within a comprehensive oncology program.

Qualifications

• PhD in Medical Physics, ABR certification or eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Therapy.
• Proficiency in dosimetry, QA, and treatment plan checks.
• Strong knowledge of IMRT/VMAT planning and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates radiation therapy equipment and conducts routine QC.
• Ensures treatment plans are checked before first fraction.
• Performs dosimetry checks to ensure plan accuracy.
• Educates staff on radiation safety and protection practices.
• Maintains compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
