Job summary

Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center is seeking a Doctorate-qualified Medical Physicist to oversee radiation therapy equipment and safety. You will calibrate dosimetry, perform QA for IMRT/VMAT plans, and help with protocol studies within the Radiation Oncology department.

Under the Chief Physicist, you will educate staff on radiation protection, participate in chart rounds, and support the RSO and regulatory compliance efforts to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate required in medical physics or related field.
  • ABR certification within 120 days of hire is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiation Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and ensure quality of radiation therapy equipment and facilities.
  • Perform QA on treatment plans and IMRT/VMAT deliveries.
  • Calibrate and maintain dosimetry and safety procedures.
  • Educate staff on radiation protection practices and safety standards.
  • Assist RSO with Radiation Safety Program and regulatory compliance.
  • Document duties and participate in protocol studies and chart reviews.
