Job summary

UC San Diego Temporary Employment Services is hiring a Patient Access Liaison to support the Radiation Oncology team. This on-site role in La Jolla runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, for a 3–6 month assignment with hourly pay of $32.75–$36.14 and mid-level benefits.

The Patient Access Liaison will verify insurance, collect records, triage referrals, maintain reporting databases, and mentor colleagues in the department.

Qualifications

• Six years healthcare/administrative experience or a Bachelor's plus two years in related roles.
• Familiarity with clinic medical billing including coding, billing systems, and documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management and patient care workflows.
• Understanding of medical terminology and clinical knowledge of clinic practice area.
• Knowledge of medical center policies, procedures, and compliance environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to convey clinic rules clearly.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets; ability to use billing systems and EMR data.
• Data analysis, research, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and patient preparation including insurance verification.
• Collect records and triage referrals for Radiation Oncology.
• Maintain databases for reporting and scheduling.
