Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Northridge Hospital Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in the Comprehensive Cancer Center to deliver compassionate, high-quality cancer care and coordinate patient plans within an interdisciplinary team. You will perform assessments, administer treatments, and ensure education for patients and families throughout the cancer care journey.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience in a specialized setting.
• Minimum 2 years as Radiology Oncology Nurse.
• Current and Active CA Registered Nurse license.
• Basic EKG interpretation and critical care nursing concepts.
• AHA BLS card required.
• LA City Fire Care within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with patient consultations, follow-up exams and coordination across departments in HDR processes.
• Perform nursing assessments, monitor patient status and implement care plans in a fast-paced oncology setting.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, treatments and post-care instructions.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary services for optimal patient outcomes and timely scheduling.
• Check records, labs and imaging prior to MD review and assist with pre-treat exams and simulations.
