The Coordinator in the radiation oncology department oversees nursing care using the Nursing Process, providing patient education on medications, skin care, and radiation side effects while ensuring quality care. They coordinate with the Department to ensure charges are entered into the charge master and reimbursement is appropriate, mentor new staff, and promote participative management and teamwork.

A NY State RN license and BLS are required, with chemotherapy/biotherapy cert within 1 year and

Competenze

• Associates Degree in Nursing or health-related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an NLN-accredited school of nursing.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Course within 6 months of employment.
• Current New York State licensure as a registered nurse; BLS.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy certificate within 1 year; Oncology certification within 2 years.
• ACLS is a plus.

Mansioni

• Education related to medications, skin care, radiation side effects, discharge instructions and post-treatment needs.
• Ongoing communication with the Department to ensure charges are entered into the charge master and reimbursement is appropriate.
• Oversee mentoring of new nursing staff and promote participative management and teamwork.
