Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall in Cornwall, NY is seeking a Per Diem Oncology Nurse Coordinator in Radiation Oncology.

You will oversee nursing care, educate patients on medications, skin care, and radiation side effects, and coordinate discharge instructions and post-treatment needs. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing with NY RN licensure, BLS, chemo/biotherapy certificate within 1 year, Oncology certification within 2 years, 1 year of oncology nursing experience, and

Qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing or health related field required. Bachelor's preferred. Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate Course within 6 months of employment.
Minimum of one (1) year oncology nursing experience required. Demonstrates sound clinical skills and an understanding of nursing process, standards of practice and positive communication skills. Demonstrated participation on committees and PI activities.
Current New York State licensure as a registered professional nurse; Current BLS, Chemotherapy/biotherapy certificate course within 1 year and Oncology certification within 2 years of hire. ACLS a plus.

Responsabilités

Oversee nursing care in the radiation oncology department using the Nursing Process with attention to patient needs and behaviors.
Provide education related to medications, skin care, and radiation side effects (acute and chronic), discharge instructions and post-treatment needs.
Ensure ongoing communication with the Department to confirm charges are entered into the charge master and reimbursement is appropriate.
Mentor new nursing staff and foster an atmosphere of participative management and teamwork among nursing staff.
Assist in managing the provision of patient care by integrating the functions of the Health Care Teams.
