Job summary

Mercy Regional Medical Physicians in Durango, Colorado, seeks a board-certified Radiation Oncologist to join a collaborative team leveraging a Varian Linac and HDR unit, 4D CT simulation, Aria/Eclipse, and SRS/SBRT capabilities to deliver advanced cancer care close to home.

You will work with 11 Radiation Oncologists across seven Colorado centers, participating in peer review, evidence-based treatment, and a culture of clinical excellence to benefit patients and communities throughout the Four

Qualifications

  • Residency/fellowship completed in specialty area.
  • DEA registration obtained and maintained.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Radiation Oncology.
  • Medical staff privileges within sponsoring health system.
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Active license to practice in the state.

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiation Oncologist, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-value, top-quality cancer care to the communities we serve in Durango, Colorado, and throughout the surrounding Four Corners region. As part of a physician-facing organization, you will be supported by extensive resources designed to allow you to focus on what matters most—caring for patients and serving the community. Our Durango Radiation Oncology program features aVarian Linac and HDR unit, 4D CT simulation, Aria/Eclipse, and SRS/SBRT capabilities, providing the technology and resources needed to deliver comprehensive, advanced radiation oncology care close to home.

Every day you will evaluate and treat patients across a broad spectrum of cancer diagnoses while working within ateam approach to evidence-based, multidisciplinary patient care. You will be part of a cohesive group of 11 Radiation Oncologists across seven centers in Colorado, supported by an integrated physics and dosimetry team. You will collaborate closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, advanced practice providers, physicists, dosimetrists, nursing teams, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans and provide coordinated cancer care. Routine peer review, collaboration across centers, and a commitment to system-wideAPEx accreditation support a culture focused on clinical excellence, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
  • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) registration;
  • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital;
  • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution
  • Doctorate MD or DO required
  • DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state required

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
