Position Summary

The Radiation Oncologist is a board-certified physician specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of cancer. At the Cancer Center of South Florida (CCSF), the Radiation Oncologist plays a vital role within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients and their families. This position requires strong clinical acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and leadership within the field of oncology. Core Responsibilities

Patient Care Excellence & Satisfaction

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer conditions using evidence-based standards of care.

• Evaluate patients' medical histories and conduct physical examinations to confirm diagnoses and determine the need for radiation therapy.
• Design individualized radiation treatment plans, including selecting appropriate radiation techniques and dosages to effectively target cancerous cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
• Oversee the administration of radiation therapy, ensuring that treatments are delivered accurately and safely.
• Regularly monitor patients' progress throughout treatment, managing any side effects and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
• Deliver timely and complete documentation of patient visits, treatment plans, and follow-ups.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in radiation oncology and apply best practices.
• Demonstrate personal reliability and efficiency in managing patient care responsibilities.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Collegiality

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists and administrative staff to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care.
• Participate in tumor boards, case reviews, and care planning discussions.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of residency in radiation oncology.
• Board certification in radiation oncology.

Required Certificates, License or Registration

• Must possess and maintain an active, unrestricted Florida Medical License issued by the Florida Board of Medicine.
• Board Certification in Radiation Oncology required.
• Valid DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration for prescribing controlled substances.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
