Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Idaho Falls is seeking a seasoned RadCon program lead to stand up and own the Radiological Control program for our advanced modular reactor operations supporting data center power.

You will design monitoring architecture, select detectors, calibrate systems, and drive licensing readiness with Operations. The role blends engineering hands-on work with program leadership, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• BS in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or related field.
• 5–7 years RadCon/RP experience with program ownership.
• Experience building RadCon in nuclear or high-rigor environments.
• Hands-on radiation monitoring system expertise.
• ALARA program implementation and records management.
• Inspections/audits readiness experience.
• Strong technical writing and cross-functional communication.
• On-site Idaho Falls with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Stand up RadCon program with policies, procedures, training, and metrics.
• Define organizational model, headcount, budget, and vendor strategy.
• Author procedures and deliver operator training.
• Implement ALARA program with KPIs and reviews.
• Develop detector selection, placement, and setpoints for balanced monitoring.
• Lead calibration plans and integrate with real-time dashboards.
• Lead licensing readiness and inspections preparations.
• Mentor staff and manage vendors.
