Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory invites applications for an Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques Intern (Summer 2027) who will also serve as a Teaching Assistant for the BWSI UAS‑SAR course. The role blends classroom support with 6 weeks on MIT's campus and optional project work at the Lab.

You will guide students, sharpen teaching and radar data analysis skills, and contribute to course materials while exploring hardware/software projects in a dynamic, security‑focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science.
  • 18+ years by 1 June 2027.
  • Familiarity with BWSI UAS-SAR course materials through attendance or assisting within the last 5 years.
  • Basic programming skills Python.
  • Demonstrated communication abilities and collaborative mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn, innovate, and contribute to a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist instructors as a Teaching Assistant for the BWSI UAS-SAR course.
  • Guide students while they learn course material, implement project components, and debug their implementations through testing.
  • Work with instructors to enhance existing course materials.
  • Build hands-on experience in analyzing radar data, extracting insights, and improving system performance.
  • Develop teaching skills by working with students on course projects.
  • Enhance technical and professional communication while coordinating with the course team and radar engineers.
