Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, California, seeks a Radar Systems Engineer to contribute across the systems engineering lifecycle. Onsite work, DoD clearance required, and relocation assistance is available. You will develop radar algorithms, perform analyses, and present findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include modeling, simulation, and verification in a classified lab, with engagement in hardware/software integration and field activities. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Radar Systems Engineer – Advanced Products & Solutions (APS), Systems Engineering Center, RTX, ElSegundo, California

Security Clearance

U.S. citizenship required. DoD Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, development of CONOPS, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification.
• Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS.
• Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
• Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment.
• Participate in hardware / software integration, troubleshooting, and hands‑on laboratory testing.
• Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post‑deployment activities.
• Perform trade studies, functional / physical analyses, and MBSE‑based system design.
• Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel up to 10%.

Required Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in a STEM discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics) and a minimum of 5years of prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software / hardware integration, data analysis using MATLAB, and configuration management.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
• Knowledge of radar fundamentals.
• Programming experience in Python and MATLAB.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic or system‑level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, detection methods.
• Imaging/pattern recognition expertise.
• Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation).

$95,500USD–$181,700USD.
