Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a talented Radar / Electronic Warfare Software Section Manager to join our team to lead a diver’s team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The candidate should an experienced in providing leadership and help grow a multidisciplinary engineering team to address diverse technical challenges for members of the Sensor Innovation Portfolio and its customers on real-time radar / electronic warfare systems and subsystems. These challenges include firmware/software development, system integration, system testing and evaluation, and the supporting of field-testing operations.

Primary Responsibilities

The individual filling this position will be located at Leidos main campus in Huntsville, AL and will work with a wide spectrum of personnel including executive leadership, program managers, chief engineers, technical staff, business development, and functional organizations across the Leidos enterprise to provide:

Effective and efficient execution of new and existing programs in support of a wide range of Department of Defense customers and contractors.

Leadership for growing a talented team and mentorship for developing junior engineers into strong technical contributors and future organizational leaders.

Technical direction for maintaining and expanding software/firmware codebases for radar / electronic warfare sensor systems including real-time system architectures and signal processing algorithms.

Cultivation and development of existing customer relationships while working to develop new relationships that enhance and expand our customer base.

Basic Qualifications

Must have a Bachelors in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience..

Demonstrated experience working with a team of talented technical employees to develop and integrate radar / electronic warfare sensor technology.

Strong technical background in enabling technologies for RF and EW sensors, including real-time software, high-speed networking and/or storage technology, and radar signal processing algorithms.

Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented design principles

Strong software engineering background with experience in defining and enforcing engineering best practices, including configuration management, coding standards, code reviews, testability, design for reusability.

Capable of identifying business development opportunities and contributing to proposal activities.

Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience in recruitment and interviewing technical staff.

Must be a U.S. citizen possess and maintain a Final Secret clearance or able to obtain and maintain a Final Secret clearance. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama area.

Preferred Qualifications

Radar Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and a Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.

Familiarity with MATLAB, CUDA, and/or VHDL is a plus

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
