Job summary

University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority offers an MRI Apprentice program starting November 9, 2026. The 100% FTE schedule runs 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with class time at 610 N Whitney Way, Madison, WI and clinical experiences at multiple UW Health facilities.

The role includes competency-based instruction and progression toward independent radiologic procedures. Eligibility requires college science coursework and 6 months of direct patient care experience; ARMRIT certification within 14

Qualifications

  • Completion of college coursework with science (Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry).
  • Sign contract to work for UW Health as Rad Tech - MRI for at least 24 months after program completion or reimburse the full program cost ($12,500).

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging examinations under general supervision using a wide range of imaging equipment and computers.
  • Participate in competency-based classroom and clinical instruction, progressing toward independent procedures.
  • Complete the Radiologic Tech - MRI Apprentice program and obtain ARMRIT certification in 14 months.

Description

Program starts November 9, 2026. 100% FTE, schedule is 7:30AM - 4:00PM. You will attend classes at 610 N Whitney Way, Madison, WI and participate in clinical experiences at University Hospital, UW Health Sports Medicine Clinic, 1 South Park Street clinic and UW Health East Madison Hospital.

We are seeking a Radiologic Tech - MRI Apprentice to:
  • Complete the program and obtain an ARMRIT certification in 14 months.
  • Participate in competency-based classroom and clinical instruction, becoming increasingly independent in performing complex and specialized procedures, through program progression.
  • Perform technical imaging examinations under general supervision and using a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers.
Eligibility

To be eligible for the Rad Tech - MRI Apprenticeship Program applicants must:

  • Completion of college coursework, including college level science in addition to the experience below Required. College level science includes coursework that covers scientific principles, and concepts such as Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, & Chemistry.
  • Sign a contract committing to work for UW Health as a Rad Tech - MRI for at least 24 months after program completion or reimburse the full ($12,500.00) cost of the program.
