Job Description

Responsible and accountable for the direct care of adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures by functioning as a scrub assistant or monitor tech. This professional will work with multidisciplinary teams within Cardiovascular Services and St. Tammany Parish Hospital to promote excellence in cardiovascular care.

Scheduled weekly hours: 40 hours. Full‑time availability required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, peripheral vascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
• Serve as a scrub assistant or monitor tech during procedures.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams within Cardiovascular Services.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation with a 30‑minute response time to provide 24‑hour cath lab availability.

Minimum Qualifications

• Six months of cath lab experience or one year of invasive radiology experience; in some circumstances, two years of radiology tech experience may be considered.
• Louisiana State Radiology Licensure or CCI‑RCIS certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) course that includes a manikin check‑off.
• Ability to work flexible hours, take on‑call duties, and report to the facility within 30 minutes.
• Basic understanding of budgetary controls.

Physical Demands

Good physical health is required. Responsibilities include standing, sitting or walking for long periods, lifting at least 50 pounds, and working in a moderate level of noise. Physical effort: constant (67%-100%) for hearing and seeing; frequent (34%-66%) for lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, reaching, handling, and talking; occasional (1%-33%) for climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching, or crawling.
