Shift: Tuesday - Thursday 9am - 7:30pm

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Outpatient Imaging Manager, the Staff Radiology Technologist works closely with referring physicians, Radiologists, other department staff, and patients. They should be knowledgeable in the function and use of all radiographic, fluoroscopic equipment, and bone densitometry (Dexa). They take radiographs at the request of physicians and maintain patient safety regarding radiation exposure by using shields, filters, and collimation.

Essential Functions:

• Takes x-ray images of specified body parts as ordered, following established procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and adjusting lead shields to protect unaffected body parts from radiation exposure.
• Performs all procedures as requested, determining appropriate exposure, providing proper instructions to and positioning of patients, with minimal repeats.
• Has experience/knowledge in adapting exams to the needs of patients in special age groups and is familiar with the use of positioning aids (e.g., pigg-o-stat) for pediatric exams.
• Completes procedures promptly and observes proper sterile technique.
• Responsible for submitting film badges monthly and monitoring occupational exposure reports.

Salary: Limited License Rad Tech $27.70 - $43.99; Rad Tech $40.10 - $53.23

Qualifications

License/Certification:

• Must be ARRT registered and licensed by the State of Oregon; Limited license considered.
• Must have current BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Education:

• Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology program.
