Job summary

Sabre Industries, Inc. is seeking a working lead in the galvanizing racking department in the United States. You will supervise up to 10 employees, coordinate production orders, and ensure safety and quality throughout the galvanizing process.

You will read work orders, assign tasks, train staff on Skill-Based Pay, and uphold Sabre safety standards while driving efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak in English required
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
• Experience using forklifts and cranes required
• Prior Galvanizing experience highly preferred
• Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred
• Must be able to maintain a positive and motivational attitude at all times
• Regular and timely attendance is required
• Ability to plan, organize, pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Flexibility to shift back and forth between 2 or more activities

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of 10 employees and manage job orders while completing tasks promptly and safely
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs
• Train and assess employees’ competencies in the Skill-Based Pay process
• Inspect all material before galvanizing to ensure material meets Sabre safety & quality guidelines and procedures
• Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime and promote efficiency
• Count, weigh or measure products to compare identifying information against bills of lading or work orders
• Record number of units handled or moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Hang steel products up to 75 lbs. on metal hooks, wire or chains and place on the overhead crane either manually or by use of equipment
• Remove stencils and grease from steel product prior to it going to the pre-treat area
• Operate heavy equipment in racking area, such as forklifts and overhead cranes
• Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, chains, slings, etc.)
• Move materials to and from storage or production areas by hand or using forklifts or other equipment
• Attach identifying tags to product or mark them with identifying information
• Perform housekeeping activities to keep the work area and equipment clean and organized. Enforce established housekeeping standards
• Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management
