Job summary

The Crystal Lake Park District Group is seeking a detail-oriented Racket Club Stringer to provide quality tennis racket stringing, gripping, and customization services. This role suits hands-on individuals who take pride in precision and have an interest in tennis equipment.

You’ll string rackets to requested tension and type, complete a weekly quota, inspect gear for wear, replace grips and grommets, and keep records in the pro shop system. Flexible hours with mornings and evenings offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of tennis racket stringing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of string types, gauges, and tension specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• String rackets to requested tension, type, and pattern.
• String 5–20 rackets per week with 24–48-hour turnaround.
• Complete racket repairs within 30 minutes per piece.
• Inspect frames and grommets for wear or damage.
• Replace grips, bumper guards, grommets, and apply stencils.
• Track string setups and tension history in the pro shop system.
• Keep stringing machines calibrated and workspace clean.

The Crystal Lake Park District is seeking a detail-oriented Racket Club Stringer to provide quality tennis racket stringing, gripping, and customization services. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in precision, and have an interest in tennis equipment, this could be your perfect match!

What You’ll Do

• String tennis rackets according to requested tension, string type, and pattern specifications.
• Complete approximately 5–20 rackets per week, typically within a 24–48-hour turnaround.
• Work efficiently to meet the standard of completing individual racket repairs within 30 minutes.
• Inspect racket frames and grommets for wear or damage before stringing.
• Replace grips, overgrips, bumper guards, and grommets, and apply stencils as needed.
• Track string setups, tension history, and completion status in the pro shop system.
• Keep stringing machines calibrated and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You’ll Bring

• One or more years of tennis racket stringing experience preferred; training may be provided.
• Knowledge of tennis string types, gauges, tension retention, and racket specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work.
• Good judgment, problem-solving skills, and safety awareness.
• Ability to perform work involving prolonged standing, precise hand movements, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
