Job summary

Ford Racing is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead next generation Features & HMI developments for Off-Road and Track vehicles. You will drive systems engineering from early feature development through production, managing upgrades and migrations while collaborating with programs, core engineers, and suppliers.

You will develop feature specs, verification plans, and Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, identify cost/quality improvements, and translate customer needs into balanced solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor7s degree in Electrical engineering or Computer Engineering or related degree
  • 2-5 years of experience with vehicle electrical systems and/or features
  • Strong learning agility
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Strong systems thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Emotional resilience to negotiate cross functional trade-offs
  • Interest in performance vehicles and related hobbies
  • Multi-faceted skill sets: systems engineering, features development, rapid prototyping, software/electronics integration, calibration (brake controls or powertrain), mechatronics

Responsibilities

  • Execute a Systems Engineering approach to new feature design to meet customer needs
  • Lead the development of new features at the systems engineering level from early feature development to production and manage feature upgrade and migration plan
  • Develop feature specifications, feature Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, feature verification plan
  • Review existing system designs to find new opportunities for cost or quality improvement
  • Interact with program teams, core engineers and functional areas to create balanced solutions to competing requirements
  • Develop relationships with cross functional teams and supply base to learn about the latest technologies
  • Analyze complex cross-functional systems and implement innovative solutions
  • Lead trade-off discussions with cross-functional teams
  • Communicate complex systems, issues and resolutions clearly
  • Utilize connected data & data analytics to understand customer needs
