Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Design Release Engineer for exterior components on a high-performance Ford Racing program. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver assemblies on a upcoming model.

You’ll manage QCWFT, coordinate with suppliers and internal groups, and ensure design conformance to Ford Racing DNA and regulatory requirements. Experience with high-performance or motorsport programs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Engineering required.
• 3-5+ years of experience in Body Castings Design & Release.
• Body structures or closures D&R experience may also be considered.
• 2+ years of experience using CAD or other visualization tools.
• Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple exterior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program.
• Manage QCWFT to support program & engineering GPDS milestones.
• Lead FSS and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject program.
• Manage design and color/material studio interfaces to deliver to customer expectations.
• Ensure conformance to Ford Racing DNA and applicable Ford & regulatory requirements.
• Develop innovative solutions for high performance vehicles and enthusiasts.
• Support issue resolution and design change management during prototype builds and launch builds.
• Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Engineering Organization.
