Job summary

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Youngstown, OH is seeking a track maintenance professional to help ensure the safety and integrity of the racing surface. You will support the Track Superintendent, maintain equipment, and oversee routine upkeep of barns and related facilities to prepare for training and racing.

The role requires knowledge of Thoroughbred horses, operation of tractors, loaders and graders, and adherence to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have thorough knowledge of Thoroughbred horses.
• Must be able to operate and maintain equipment (tractors, loaders, graders, etc).
• Must have knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements.
• Other duties, as needed.
• Education: High school diploma; 1–3 years prior track maintenance experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Track Superintendent to ensure operating excellence of racetrack surface.
• Prioritize projects and tasks needed to care for and maintain the racing surface.
• Document protocols to maintain compliance with external and internal standards.
• Assist in procurement, operation, and maintenance of equipment/tools/materials for surface prep.
