Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of quality engineering experience in motorsport or aerospace.
• Strong GD&T, blueprint reading and CMM data analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Minitab/JMP, Six Sigma DMAIC and Power BI.

About the Role:

Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC) is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Santa Clarita, CA. You will direct quality initiatives for championship racing engines, lead pre-production builds using APQP, and validate high-precision machined components to CTQ specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee pre-production race engine builds and component qualification using APQP methodologies.
• Review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and precision CMM metrology data against ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Lead investigations into race engine component failures, performing root cause analysis (8D / DMAIC).
• Validate supplier manufacturing capabilities, control plans, and statistical process capability (Cp/Cpk).
• Manage nonconformances, CAPAs, and supplier audits within UniPoint quality software.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 7-10 years of quality engineering experience in high-performance motorsport or aerospace environments.
• Advanced proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and CMM metrology data analysis.
• Mastery of statistical tools (Minitab / JMP), Six Sigma DMAIC, and Power BI dashboards.
• Physical capability to work around race engines, dyno test cells, and pit environments.
