Job summary

Medgene Labs in Brookings, SD, seeks an R&D Clinical and Laboratory Scientist to join the hybrid team. You will conduct and monitor clinical studies, manage study data, and perform laboratory assays in support of vaccine research across multiple species.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will follow SOPs, ensure CVB-compliant practices, document meticulously, and collaborate with internal staff and external sites to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field such as animal science, biology, or RVT.
• Must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States; visa sponsorship not anticipated.
• Knowledge of animal handling/husbandry, sample handling, data capture and reporting, general lab principles, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform independently and in teams following SOPs and protocols.
• Conduct studies meeting animal care, use, and welfare requirements under oversight.
• Vaccination and sample collection with production and laboratory species.
• Provide daily husbandry care for laboratory animals.
• Collaborate with contracted study sites for monitoring and data tracking.
• Maintain good documentation practices for study and lab data.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and animal handling tools.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet project milestones and ensure safety.
