Job summary

Antares in Torrance, CA is seeking a hands-on Test Technician to build, operate, and maintain test infrastructure for the R1 reactor. You will assemble test stands, install sensors, wire hardware, run tests, and document results to support rapid engineering iteration.

The role emphasizes practical fabrication, safety, and data quality, with opportunities to work closely with Test Engineers to enable dependable test campaigns and traceable run logs in a fast-paced hardware development environment.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED required.
2+ years as a test/engineering/lab technician or similar.
Experience assembling mechanical systems or test fixtures.
Experience with instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, strain gauges).
Familiarity with data acquisition systems and basic test software.
Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams.
Strong mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

Build, assemble, and maintain test rigs for R1 components.
Install instrumentation including thermocouples, transducers, strain gauges, and wiring.
Set up data acquisition systems and control hardware.
Execute tests per procedures; document conditions, results, anomalies, and observations.
Support engineers in developing test setups and campaigns.
Maintain test areas, equipment, and safety systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
Document failures and gather data for engineering review.
Maintain run logs and configuration records.
