Job summary

Antares in Torrance, CA is seeking a hands-on Test Technician to join our R1 reactor program. You will build, operate, instrument, and maintain test infrastructure, assemble test stands, wire sensors, and document results.

This role emphasizes safety, data quality, and rapid iteration with Test Engineers to support development and qualification testing. Required: HS diploma, 2+ years hands-on tech experience, experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and reading engineering drawings;

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience as a test or lab technician.
• Experience assembling mechanical systems and prototype hardware.
• Instrumentation integration experience is required.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems and basic test software.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe tool use.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work around high-energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and maintain test rigs and fixtures for R1 components.
• Install instrumentation: thermocouples, transducers, strain gauges, sensors.
• Set up data acquisition systems and control hardware.
• Execute tests and document conditions, results, and anomalies.
• Support engineers in test setups and campaigns.
• Fabricate brackets and harnesses; basic machining and fabrication.
• Maintain clean, safe test areas and equipment.
• Troubleshoot test stands and assist root-cause investigations.
• Maintain run logs and calibrations; assist procurement of components.
