Job summary

Merit Medical in Utah seeks a skilled technician to perform non-routine design, assembly, and operation of equipment. You will design tooling, fixtures, and prototypes, and develop test procedures while analyzing problems and maintaining data records.

The role may involve supervising other technicians and preparing specimens, with overtime as needed. Strong computer skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a High School Diploma with seven years of technician experience, or an Associate's Degree with five years, or a Bachelor's with three years.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and related software.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of tooling and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning non-routine assignments and develops tooling, fixtures, and assembly equipment.
• Designs and builds tooling and test fixtures; assembles equipment and prototypes.
• Develops test and assembly procedures and records data.
• Investigates and analyzes product and assembly problems.
• May supervise technicians and lab/equipment colleagues.
• Prepares test specimens, adjusts equipment, and reports deviations.
• Writes reports and extracts data from varying sources for presentation.

Performs assignments and may assist in planning assignments of a non-routine nature for which operational precedents are not fully applicable.2. Designs and builds tooling, test fixtures and assembly equipment. Builds prototypes and models and may operate machine tools.3. Develops test and assembly procedures.4. Prepares test specimens, adjusts and operates equipment, and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.7. Writes reports, extracts engineering or other data from various reports and processes and presents the data.8. Receives technical advice from engineers or supervisor for complex problems.9.
