Job summary

Harmar is seeking an R&D Technician to support engineering and product development by building prototypes, testing, and fabricating components. You will work hands-on in a fast-paced shop, turning concepts into functional hardware with MIG welding and machining capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and basic circuits.
• Proficiency in welding (MIG preferred).
• Experience with machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools and precision measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and modify prototypes from drawings or instructions.
• Perform mechanical and electrical testing and document results.
• Fabricate parts using milling/drilling equipment.
• Weld and fabricate components using MIG as required.
• Troubleshoot issues in prototypes and test setups.
• Assist engineers with design improvements from tests.
