Job summary

Experis is seeking an R&D Technician/Engineering Technician for a 4+ month onsite assignment in San Diego, CA. You will perform laboratory functions to layout, build, test and troubleshoot mechanical or electro-mechanical devices, following schematics and instructions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years of experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work on a Fortune 500 client project on a 8am–5pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience performing research and engineering lab functions.
• Ability to build or assemble prototype materials and subassemblies.
• Experience reading schematics and engineering drawings.
• Ability to construct, operate, troubleshoot, calibrate and test equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving layout, testing, troubleshooting, and modification of mechanical or electro-mechanical devices.
• Works with schematics and drawings, builds prototypes, and tests equipment and products.
• Maintains documentation through development, testing and analysis phases.
• Supports cross-functional discussions and technology transfer where needed.
