Job summary

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a R&D Technician for a prominent client in San Diego, CA. This 100% onsite, 1st shift position offers an hourly pay range of $31–$41, depending on experience, with a contract through the end of the year.

Responsibilities include performing mechanical/electro-mechanical lab functions, building prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, documenting results, and contributing to cross-functional discussions.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical and electrical experience in assembly / testing / repair.

Responsibilities

• Conducts mechanical/electro-mechanical testing, troubleshooting and repair on devices and systems.
• Performs duties across electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, and optical areas.
• Builds and assembles prototype components and subassemblies.
• Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates and tests equipment and systems.
• Works from schematics and engineering drawings and instructions.
• Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.
• Reviews or develops manufacturing instructions.
• Maintains detailed documentation through development and testing.
• May assist in technology transfer and cross-functional discussions on device performance.

Pay Range: $31 - 41/hr depending on experience

Job Description

• Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electro-mechanical materials, devices, assemblies, sub-assemblies, systems. and products. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.


• Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas.


• Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.


• Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.


• Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.


• Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.


• Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions.


• Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.


• May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.
