Job summary

ITW Performance Polymers in Danvers, MA invites motivated students to join our Technical Internship in R&D and Technical Services. You will work alongside engineers and chemists to support formulation projects, run lab-scale batches, and test materials, gaining practical experience in adhesives and coatings.

You’ll contribute to product development, data collection, and customer-facing support while developing technical communication skills and professional networks within a Fortune 300 company.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, plastics engineering, materials science, or related field.
• Minimum major GPA of 3.0 and sophomore status or higher.
• Prior lab experience is a plus; safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency with MS Office; basic data analysis skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Devcon and Plexus product lines.
• Assist chemists in formulating lab-scale sample batches.
• Contribute to design and development of new adhesives and coatings.
• Prepare and test specimens to characterize product properties and performance.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify differentiation opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineers on customer projects through testing and data collection.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and end-users.
