Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in Duluth, MN seeks an R&D Tech at Level 1 or 2 to support product testing and development on-site.

You will work with schematics, test equipment, and prototypes to advance space, automotive and industrial projects. Candidates should have an ABET-accredited Associate degree or equivalent military training, 0–3 years experience, and be able to operate oscilloscopes, voltmeters, power supplies and perform soldering and PCBA work.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical test equipment and schematics.
• Proficient in hand soldering and PCBA assembly.
• 0–3 years of related experience; ABET accredited program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of products and equipment using schematics and descriptions.
• Operate test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, others) to support R&D engineering.
• Build prototypes, fixtures, enclosures, and production tooling.
• Provide production line engineering support and address equipment issues.
• Conduct qualification testing on new products.
• Perform X-ray analysis on space-grade products.
• Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Location

This position will be on-site at the Duluth, MN facility, near Airpark blvd and Haines Road.

What You Will Be Doing

• Uses schematics, diagrams, and verbal descriptions to perform testing of products and equipment.
• Uses test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test equipment in support of R&D engineering.
• Build prototypes and related hardware including test fixtures, mechanical enclosures, assembly jigs and production tooling.
• Production line engineering support leader – addresses equipment issues and line-down situations.
• Performs qualification testing on new products.
• Performs Xray analysis on space grade products.
• Obeys all work rules and EHS regulations as valid for the work task(s) assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring Along

Experienced with operation of electrical engineering test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, power supplies. Understands electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and the general characteristics of electronic components. Skilled with hand soldering, PCBA construction, and the use common shop tools. Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures.

Associate degree in engineering technology from an ABET accredited college or technical school or equivalent military related training with 0-3 years of prior related experience. Job training and orientation time required to perform the job satisfactorily is expected to be less than 2 months.

Work hours: Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM

Pay: $23-24/hr starting pay (additional compensation may be added based on experience)
