Job summary

BD is seeking an experienced R&D Lead in Franklin Lakes, NJ to drive new product development and engineering initiatives for biomedical platforms. You will guide major programs, oversee design control, and deliver robust technical solutions through experiments, analyses, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related engineering.
• B.S.: 8+ years of experience in technical area
• M.S.: 5+ years of experience in technical area
• Ph.D.: 3+ years of experience in technical area
• Strong technical judgment and leadership.
• Experience with diagnostic platforms in Core Laboratory.
• Ability to lead R&D product development projects.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and DFSS methodologies.
• Experience with phase-gate development processes.
• Proficiency with fixture design and test methods.
• MSA knowledge.
• Solid modeling and project tools proficiency.
• Communication and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as R&D Lead on New product development and product engineering initiatives.
• Guide major programs and may function in project leadership role.
• Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
• Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
• Supports design control processes with documented research/analyses.
• Develops technical solutions using experimental, computational and analytical methods.
• Designs and develops in vivo and in vitro models to evaluate product features & improvements.
• Applies risk-based approaches to development challenges.
• Develops robust test methods and design verification/validation.
• Plans, executes and analyzes design of experiments (DOE).
• Writes, implements and leads bench studies, tolerance stack-up analyses, and component specifications.
• Performs data analysis and presents results to leadership.
• Provides advanced engineering support to build business cases for new opportunities.
