Job summary

Keysight in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Software R&D Engineer to contribute to sampling oscilloscope application development and DevOps, combining hands-on coding with CI/CD modernization. Early-career engineers are welcome; target is delivering high-quality software to customers and manufacturing.

The role emphasizes building robust pipelines, automation, and tooling to improve release cycles and product quality, with on-site work in Santa Rosa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant experience; internships, co-ops, and project work count toward experience.
• Proficiency in at least one OO language, preferably C#, and the ability to write and debug non-trivial code.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals including OOD, data structures, and debugging.
• Working knowledge of Git or another source control system.
• Hands-on or solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and release management.
• Scripting for automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar.
• Understanding of software testing concepts (unit, integration, regression).
• Experience developing software on Windows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain measurement, analysis, and instrument-control features under guidance from senior engineers.
• Create customer-facing software features to simplify complex measurement workflows and improve user experience.
• Investigate, reproduce, and resolve issues reported by customers, manufacturing, and internal partners with hardware, QA, and support teams.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps that build, test, package, and release software.
• Automate build versioning, installer creation, code signing, and artifact management to improve release reliability and speed.
• Support source control and branching strategies; contribute to source control modernization.
• Support release processes including beta and RC builds and delivery to manufacturing and customers.
• Develop scripts, tools, and dashboards to improve developer productivity and show build health and quality metrics.
