Job summary

OxBlue, part of Hexagon, is a leading global provider of construction time-lapse and live streaming video camera services. The R&D Software Engineer will prototype and build features, design backend microservices in Laravel and PHP, and implement Python services for Linux environments.

You will also integrate LLMs and vision-language models with real jobsite imagery, work with camera APIs, and translate findings into concrete specs for other engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and shipping production backend software with PHP and a modern framework (Laravel preferred).
• Python experience is required.
• Fluency in SQL and relational design; ability to read and explain schemas.
• Comfort with Linux and HTTP APIs, queues, and services that talk to others.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong technical writing for documentation and ticket specs.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and build new cutting-edge features for upcoming products.
• Write specifications and tickets for Backend Engineers to implement.
• Design and build backend microservices in Laravel and PHP.
• Develop Python backends and jobs for Linux environments.
