Job summary

Nestlé Purina North America in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the site's safety program. You’ll provide strategic direction for OSHA and ISO 45001 compliance, drive a proactive safety culture, and partner with leaders to identify risks and implement sustainable improvements.

The role includes investigations, injury/claims management, and return-to-work processes in an R&D/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years leading OSHA compliant safety programs at site/facility level in industrial, manufacturing, R&D or similar environments.
• 2+ years managing workplace injury cases and workers' compensation/return-to-work.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks across laboratory, pilot plant, facilities, grounds, and office environments with appropriate controls.
• Drive employee awareness, engagement and accountability through safety initiatives and trainings.
• Partner with leaders to influence positive safety behaviors and drive sustainable improvements.
• Lead investigations of incidents using Nestlé Continuous Excellence methodologies and manage reporting/return-to-work.
• Maintain OSHA 300 Log and internal reporting per ISO 45001.
• Lead risk assessment and risk prediction processes for hazard mitigation.
• Collaborate with safety professionals globally to share best practices.
• Develop and mentor Site Safety Coordinator.
