Job summary

Cordant Health Solutions invites a Research & Development Scientist to join our toxicology laboratory team in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on research, development, validation, and continuous improvement of testing methods for drugs of abuse in urine and oral fluid, using EMIT immunoassay and LC-MS/MS platforms.

You will design and execute method development studies, perform extractions, troubleshoot instruments, document validation results, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemistry or closely related science field.
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience in toxicology, forensic, or clinical labs.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS method development and validation.
  • Familiarity with EMIT immunoassay technology and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate new testing methods for drugs of abuse using EMIT and LC-MS/MS.
  • Apply and refine extraction techniques including liquid-liquid extraction and dilute-and-shoot.
  • Perform validation studies (precision, accuracy, linearity, specificity, stability).
  • Troubleshoot instruments and methods to improve sensitivity, turnaround time, and cost.
  • Document results and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP-FDT, and audits.
