Job summary

VARITE INC is seeking a Technical Applications Specialist in Fremont, CA to support the Clinical Diagnostics division. This 12-month contract role focuses on verification and validation studies for clinical analyzers in the Applications Team, enabling new assay applications to launch.

You will execute studies on clinical chemistry analyzers, prepare protocols and reports, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues to drive quality and speed to market in a lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences.
• 3+ years related experience (BA/BS) or 1 year with MS/PhD in life sciences.
• Experience operating automated clinical chemistry analyzers.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to work in a team.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate Range: $22.50 - $39.90/hr on W2

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO

How will you make an impact?

• The Clinical Diagnostics Division of client is seeking a highly motivated, innovative and experienced professional to join the Research and Development department at Fremont, California.
• The R&D Scientist II position is a hands-on bench position responsible for verification and validation studies on various clinical analyzers within the Applications Team in a laboratory environment to support the launch of new assay applications.

What will you do?

• Execute various studies using clinical chemistry analyzers.
• Write, edit, and secure approval of protocols, reports, and technical documents.
• Compile, analyze data, and interpret results.
• Troubleshoot problems and recommend corrective actions.

How will you get here?

Education

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline

Experience:

• BA/BS or equivalent in life science discipline with 3 or more years related experience, MS degree or PhD degree in life science discipline with a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability for technical proficiency.
• Hands on experience operating automated clinical chemistry analyzers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good organization and multi-tasking skills.
• Computer skills such as Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of FDA/ISO design control and regulatory requirements related to IVD products.
• Familiarity with CLSI procedures.
