Job summary

Dexcom Inc. is seeking a Supervisor for the R&D Process Development Lab in San Diego. You will lead a team of technicians to execute development builds, conduct DOE studies, and characterize processes while ensuring safety and compliance with quality systems.

You will collaborate with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Quality to advance new products and processes, maintain equipment readiness, and drive continuous improvement across multiple programs in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 6–8 years of industry leadership experience.
• Experience leading engineering laboratories, process development, or product development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional programs and priorities.
• Experience in regulated environments (medical devices, biotech, pharma) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily operations of the R&D Process Development Lab.
• Manage a team of technicians and lab support personnel.
• Plan and execute experiments with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Quality teams.
• Oversee development equipment, fixtures, and resources for engineering activities.
• Drive DOE execution, process characterization, feasibility studies, and pilot builds.
• Establish and maintain lab procedures, training, and documentation per quality system.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure EHS compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, capability, and data quality.
• Manage budgets, capital equipment purchases, vendor relationships, and resource planning.
• Support internal and external audits through proper documentation and records.
