Job summary

Nissan is seeking a Powertrain Performance Engineer to join our team in Arizona. You will evaluate and develop vehicle acceleration and drivability for future Nissan and Infiniti products, conducting evaluations and benchmarking to drive performance improvements.

The role involves designing development experiments, calibrating powertrain parameters, and collaborating with North America and global R&D teams. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in hybrid/electric and/or internal combustion calibration.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle operation.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently plan and execute engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop vehicle acceleration and drivability performance for future Nissan and Infiniti products.
• Conduct subjective and objective vehicle evaluations to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Perform competitive benchmarking studies and establish performance targets based on customer expectations and market-leading vehicles.
• Design and execute vehicle development experiments using advanced data acquisition and measurement systems.
• Calibrate powertrain tuning parameters for acceleration and drivability performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across North America and global R&D organizations throughout the vehicle development process.
• Manage development activities including test planning, execution, reporting, and technical presentations to management.
