Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Finance Portfolio Analytics Analyst to drive modeling, forecasting and analytics for R&D investments. You will build financial and operational models, create dashboards and support strategic analyses by integrating data across scientific, clinical, financial and operational sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (engineering, CS, math, econ, OR or finance) or life sciences with quantitative experience.
• 2+ years in financial/operational modelling, data analysis, analytics or forecasting.
• 2+ years coding in Python, R or SQL with exposure to data science app frameworks (Shiny/Streamlit/Dash).
• Experience turning data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Pharma/biotech exposure preferred; cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build, populate and maintain financial and valuation models (e.g., NPV/rNPV).
• Gather, clean and structure data from scientific, clinical, financial and operational sources.
• Develop probabilistic and Monte Carlo simulations and other quantitative analyses.
• Maintain portfolio forecasts, metrics, milestones and KPI tracking; flag variances.
• Build and maintain dashboards and decision materials for reviews.
• Communicate results clearly to non‑technical stakeholders; collaborate across teams.
