Job summary

Dow Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a Pilot Plant Technician to support the operation of the R&D Pilot Plant.

You will work with engineers, scientists and other technicians to ensure safe and proficient operation and to deliver product samples and process information for planned experiments. The role requires hands-on maintenance, field checks, process monitoring, and the ability to perform root cause investigations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or higher in Process Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant technical military experience/training.
• 3+ years of work experience in chemical facility operations or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate and field check process equipment; monitor conditions, equipment and control systems.
• Perform tasks per Master Task List (field checks, equipment prep, samples).
• Investigate deviations, understand team integration, identify optimization opportunities.
• Collect plant metrics for SPC, asset utilization, costs, yields, and drive improvements.
• Write and improve job procedures; participate in root-cause investigations.
• Handle lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety compliance.
• Support process upset/crisis response and safety culture.
